OK, to begin with, I'm so old that when I was a kid, you had to pay for your own damn lunch. So I have a question here:

Are these schoolkids allowed to "brownbag" their lunch? I wouldn't let a kid depend on the crap Moochelle is trying to force on them.

Some are but they are subject to inspection and approval.

We didn’t even have a cafeteria where you could buy lunch until we got to high school.

you ask if kids can brown bag
not really . now school people look at a kids lunch from home and then reject it
One school rejected a turkey on wholewheat. baked chips a cookie and apple.

remember schools get taxpayer money to shovel that slop.

You are allowed to bring your own lunch. For now.

My younger children had Salisbury steak and mashed potatoes one day this week. They loved it. But there have been other days when they said the same meal was awful. They had chicken this week as well. The younger two had two chicken legs each. My daughter’s class had thighs and wings. Daughter picked at hers. I saw a teacher with a chicken breast on her plate, and I commented that it actually looked kind of good. She pointed out the gel like goop that was on all of the chicken and told me it looked like the goop on the characters in Poltergeist when they came back to the light. Lol. That teacher did eat it though. And she survived.

I was in the lunchroom another day this week when they served sloppy joes. My children refuse to eat it. They say it is taco meat on a bun and that it is awful. These sandwiches come wrapped in waxed paper. I saw so many of those still wrapped and thrown away. Just crazy wasted food. Maybe they will take that off the menu. Haha.

In many cases, they are not. I have seen stories posted on this forum of government school essenpolizei searching kids' lunches and forcibly taking anything that doesn't meet their arbitrary "standards".
