Only then did the Russian army enter South Ossetia and chase the Georgians back into their own country.

As far as I know, they're helping them in building a nuclear power plant. If they were aiding on a bomb, Iran would have one by now. We started from scratch and dropped 2 on Japan in less 4 years. The reverse is the real truth! Actually, the Russian military was already in South Ossetia before anything happened. Russian troops dressed as "separatists" were launching rockets at Georgian cities. The Russian army was also, conveniently, on a large scale "training exercise". When the Georgians took the bait, the Russian army poured in. I still remember the photographs I saw of Georgians cut to pieces probably from helicopter fire. One half of the body here, another half of the body there.
Building a nuclear power plant = Helping Iran get the bomb. Iran doesn't need nuclear energy. It's awash in oil.
