Here's what's tucked in the spending bill

Washington (CNN) -- The Congress that has done virtually nothing for two years is wrapping up 2014 with a bang.

Dozens of policy provisions are tucked into a nearly 1,603-page bill that will keep the government open through next September. The provisions affect everything from campaign finance laws to financial regulations, marijuana possession and even the government's purchase of white potatoes.

What the bill doesn't do:

The bill doesn't block the president's executive action on immigration. Conservatives wanted to use the spending bill to strip away money for any agencies tasked with implementing the president's new policy. But the legislation continues funding for the Department of Homeland Security through the end of February.

The deal doesn't roll back any major portions of Obamacare - it allows for continued funding at the current levels. Last fall the GOP's effort to defund the health care law as part of the spending bill resulted in a government shutdown, a move leaders pledged they didn't want to repeat this year.

Screw the GOP. I'm done with these spineless, rotten, worthless traitors. Would be better to have a D majority at this point, rather than to elect R's that get elected and then bend you over. RIP America.

virtually nothing for 2 years....

The House passed hundreds and hundreds of bills, it was Harry Reid that did nothing but obstruct

I think it would be funny if someone snuck in one sentence into one of these large bills no one reads that repealed obamacare in a very obscure way.

And no one noticed and Obama signed it :)

Of course it was, but then again, this is the Communist News Network...they excel at propaganda!

When I e mailed my congressman, there was a lot of ‘required information’ in the sending mechanism.

I added to my message:

Don’t bother sending me requests for donations. Until/unless you guys remember who put you in office and why you’re there, we won’t be sending anything. I throw it away and don’t even open it.

The advantage being they'd quickly go hard-Socialist and quickly bankrupt the Chamber of Commerce-types who are behind all this Crony Capitalist crap. At least then we'd have a shot to rebuild.

Subhuman flotsam. Inveterate LIAR. Significantly impaired in his honesty. Are those of you who voted to reelect him or those in congress who voted for him as “leader” satisfied?

What nonsense. It was D majorities that put in the monstrosity called Obamacare and your attitude that gave Obama another 4 years in the WH to do this immigration thing. I know you're angry but keep your head and think straight.

your attitude that gave Obama another 4 years

FYI: That moronic argument is about as wore out as "It's Bush's fault." or "You're racist!" Get over it. The GOP is nothing but a den of lying traitors. Not all of us enjoy getting bent over and screwed by supposed "friends"

Because it's part of our responsibility? I won't be wasting another vote on the GOP, however. Independent/Libertarian/Constitution, ok. GOP? Nope.

Did this article mention that the bill cuts the IRS and EPA budgets?

Being CNN, I doubt it but I will not dirty my computer by opening a CNN article in order to read it.

We need good Constitution party candidates.

In TX, we generally get flakes running as Libertarians or Independents.

The GOP/Lobbyist $$ Machine pays for a lot of RINO campaigns.

Dude, you have absolutely no clue as to how droll and tiresome those empty accusations have become...

Btw, is it time to hold the GOP-e’s feet to the fire?
