Torture is repulsive. Even on the scaffold or in front of a firing squad, a man can meet death with dignity. The torturer sets out to strip his victim of dignity, to break him, to violate not only his body but also his soul. In England, torture was outlawed in 1660, and for most of the past 350 years, that seemed to be a final verdict. Torture had been a barbarous relic of the dark ages. Anyone who suggested that it might still have a role would have been laughed to scorn; no doubt he would also have been in favour of burning witches.

They’re still calling waterboarding “torture”, I see.
Obama, Reid or Pelosi torture us whenever they speak in public.
bttt
Let the enemy pronounce their own fate. If they terrorize, behead, deceive to commit mass killings, including the innocent, we should torture EVERY time to stop it. You must be willing to be ruthless to stop a ruthless enemy. To rule it out, you invite further attack. Sudden death by drone missile is too good for them. As far as I am concerned, nothing you can conjure up for Islamic terrorists is off limits because they don’t even qualify as animals, let alone human beings.
You (especially if you call yourself secular) may not be interested in Islam, but Islam is interested in you. Islam yearns to force you to address its three demands: convert, submit or die. Islam brought the war to us. The west did not war against Islam as it now must.
The ideal situation would be for one of the CIA professionals to show how this information has damaged us as a country and, it backfires on the stupid leftist party in the minds of the thinking Americans. It should not be too difficult if the poll I saw that says 63% support the CIA actions.
I for one couldn’t give a Damn what we did to these pos friends of the president.
And I am sure most real Americans don’t care either.
And Pelosi Reid and Feinstein need a drill bit taken to their anal cavities.
I don’t think torture can be justified if it means maiming the body and doing permanent damage to it—cutting off fingers and toes, for instance.
But as many of us have been saying for a long time, strictly speaking waterboarding is not torture, because it does no real or permanent damage. It’s just extremely scary.
Nor is it forbidden to threaten to torture someone, with the intention of scaring him into talking.
If these jerks want to know what torture is, they should look at what the Muzzies do to us, not what we do to them.
Waterboarding is certainly justified if it is performed with the intention of saving lives. Which it was.
Sorry, that's where I draw the line.
I reluctantly agree that hurting a guilty person to save innocent lives may sometimes be the right thing to do.
Hurting innocent people for the same goal, not gonna go there.
Say goodbye, New York.
Tirure is effect. Want proof? Look at John McInsane McCain.
Tirure = torture
American lives are worth it.
I saw a phot yesterday of some scum sucking piece of human debris holding a dead, beheaded little girl of maybe three years old.
There is nothing that we can do to find out how to hunt down and kill these feral animals that goes too far. Nothing. I don’t care.
tearing your fingernails off with a pliers is torture....splitting your tongue with a razor blade is torture, .....etc etc...waterboarding could scare you A LOT but it is not torture....keeping you from your nap prior to your soccer game on the provided field (sleep deprivation) is not torture. Providing you with three meals a day and giving you (free) the best health care in the world (neither of which you've never had) is NOT TORTURE...
Torture and execution of prisoners is counterproductive. If the enemy you’re fighting knows he will be tortured or executed if taken prisoner, his resistance will stiffen and you can expect more casualties of your own. During the Battle of the Bulge, American prisoners were murdered by the SS. American resistance stiffened and the German offensive was defeated.
If a 100KT nuclear weapon (portable) is reported missing for a military facility because of an armed incursion, if any country needs to torture to death a hundred clear suspects, it’s justified. If they happen to be innocent, they are collateral damage because of the company they keep.
Yes, it can.
And in other news, what we did WAS NOT TORTURE.
Excellent!!!
