Isn't it Father Christmas in Britain.

Santa Claus is a corruption of the Dutch version of "St. Nicholas" which arose in New York state, I believe.

The reindeer may be an invention of Clement Clarke Moore. I don't think they are mentioned in the Bible.

Yes it is. That and Santa Claus. We know the St Nick name, but its not well used.

I gather Father Christmas isn’t well known or used in the US?.
