Well, in this case Chuckles is stretching the truth a bit. Being a cop is nowhere near as dangerous as TV shows like to portray it. It’s certainly not near the top of the list of dangerous professions. Still it’s a tragedy when anyone does not come home from work, whether by heart attack, car accident, falling from a roof or getting crushed on a job site.
They count heart attacks in these statistics, that tells you about these kind of articles.
It’s my understanding that’s what Eric Garner died from.
Glad we don’t need to be concerned about that any longer.
Thank you.
But what’s important is that the criminals got to go home.
Do you have any idea how stressful it is to never know if you will live or die, when you pull a car over?
Those of you who continually seek to diminish the dangers and negatives with being a law enforcement officer, are sorry excuses for a Conservative.
These officers day in and day out come up against the absolute worst in our society. I don’t think you have any grasp of what that actually means.
Murderers, rapists, child molesters, armed robbers, burglars, kidnappers, extortionists, terrorists, and yes, just simple assholes that have no clue that their lousy attitudes add to the stress of being a law enforcement officer.
If you have nothing positive to say on a thread that heralds dead officers, go peddle your crap somewhere else.
The obese man in bad health, dying at the hands of a bad arrest? Yeah.
What does that have to do with inflated government union statistics?
According to many folks here, that’s about it.
You are a moron.
I sure hope that you aren’t a cop, because you seem to be the type that is destroying their link to the people.
This thread heralds the officers that lose their lives in the line of duty.
Some pathetic individuals have so much hatred for the police, they can’t resist entering this thread to trash them yet again.
And then you label others who take you to task for it.
Pathetic.
The article is a political piece written as an angle on the current news.
Quit sounding like an old liberal telling everyone how insensitive to the suffering they are.
Ansel112, you reveal who you really are here.
I couldn’t have done it better myself.
I thank you.
“Murderers, rapists, child molesters, armed robbers, burglars, kidnappers, extortionists, terrorists, and yes, just simple assholes that have no clue that their lousy attitudes add to the stress of being a law enforcement officer.”
Yet, more trashmen die in the line of duty than cops. In fact, cops die in the line of duty far less than most professions. Another fact, cops kill 10 tens as many people as are killed each year. Some of those people are bad guys, buy some aren’t.
It was good of Norris to write this.
Yes CodeToad, and every trashman in the nation has to worry about armed conflict each day. They have to come into contact with the groups I mentioned. They have armed people going up against them. /s
Sadly, you’re upset because the police are armed and take down criminals before the criminals can kill them.
This is a law and order forum. The police are a necessary part of our criminal justice system.
With a million or so officers on the street, there are going to be mistakes made. Officers also die in the line of duty.
I’ll also note, that what some folks consider police injustice, isn’t. And yet those become one more in long line of misconceptions that cause them to believe things that aren’t true.
Well, I agree with you. Some folks think it’s union propaganda.
Good grief.
You reveal that you want to make politics and government personal by making personal attacks.
You should strive to become more patriotic and conservative.
Cops are starting to become a factor of stress in our daily lives, good Americans sincerely and rightfully fear coming to their attention today, as even just casually coming to their attention can result in death, or forfeitures, damage to our homes, confiscation of our cars, the deaths of our pets.
People are learning to try to avoid them, and more and more are learning that calling them may result in their lives being upended or destroyed.
There are obvious problems with our governments and police, and the solutions that we choose to impose on them are more difficult to pass today because the cops are unionized and largely control our elected government officials, through voting numbers, money, and power, as the are united with other government unions, from firemen to teachers.
I don’t understand that. Just for the record, I’ve never had any encounter with law enforcement where their behaviour was anything but professional, polite and proper.
Yes, it’s clear that there are some problems with some members of law enforcement, but I believe that they are the exception.
