All Democrat politicians quietly allow gangs to operate.
All Republican politicians quietly oppose gangs in words for their voting base only, then quietly allow the gangs to operate.
Law enforcment plays cat and mouse with lower gang members, but is ordered to leave alone the banks that allow money laundering to continue.
From time to time, there are “big arrests” for public display, and politicians make the most of them for publicity. Some politicians go pretty far in cleaning up one area as far as low-level crime harassing the sheeple, like Rudy Guiliani did in NYC. But ultimately, the criminal gangs are not wiped out, just at most told to “take it off the street”, “stop harassing passers by”. But ultimately, the major inflow of drugs into the US is protected by US espionage operations, which have always been headed up by Bonesmen working for the biggest US/UK drug lords.
