Gov. Steve Beshear was named Thursday to the Democratic National Committees Democratic Victory Task Force to assess the partys strengths and weaknesses ahead of future elections.
Beshear was selected by DNC Chair and U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Shultz, D-Florida, alongside nine other appointees.
We are proud to announce the members of the Democratic Victory Task Force, and are eager to work with them to build on what weve done that works, identify and prioritize challenges and ultimately improve our partys performance in future elections, Wasserman Schultz said in a press release.
This diverse group of Democratic Party officials, strategists and advocates will each bring with them expertise from their fields to collaborate on a holistic review of the Partys past performance and present actionable areas for improvement moving forward.
Sam Youngman of the Lexington-Herald Leader was first reported Beshears selection to the task force.
The task force will conduct a review and assessment of the Democratic Partys role in recent elections and look for ways to strengthen and improve operations. According to the press release, the group will solicit input from a wide variety of stake holders.
Beshear has been lauded by high profile national Democrats and the White House for his work implementing the Affordable Care Act in the state. He also serves as the last remaining Democrat over a southern state with one legislative chamber still under Democratic majority control.
Other members of the initiative include: Naomi Aberly, Donna Brazile, Maria Cardona, Marc Elias, Teddy Goff, Maneesh Goyal, Colorado Democratic Party Chair Rick Palacio, Lee Saunders and Eric Schmidt.

Democrats studying how to lie better.
Film at 11.
They still suck.
Dat true.
Eric Schmidt, piece of work, that one.
they really don't understand why they just suffered an epic blowout. they really, really don't understand.
I'm not impressed with them, period.
I wanna give Tard a cuddle. Beshear, not so much.
Of course, she's a woman. Plus Hillary stole them.
DNC: "Now that we have really messed up, let's put the white guy in charge."
In the GOP two wings debate which one is dragging everybody over the cliff. No such problems with the Rats. They jump off the cliff together. One thing for certain; nobody on this Rat task farce will dare suggest that their party is moving too left, too fast.
Who do they think they're trying to fool?
And Democrats still suck.
Lest we forget, KY Gov. Beshear is the idiot that decided in November 2009 to rename the state’s Christmas tree the “holiday” tree. He quickly figured out that he’d screwed up and reversed himself. He should work well with Debbie Wasserman-Shultz.
I misread the title. At first glance, I was sure it said, “Boehner named...”.
I hope they do as well in the future ;)
Now that’s just plain funny
I thought it said Boehner.
