The Rev. Al Sharpton, with Eric Garner's widow Esaw Garner (left) and mother Gwen Carr met with federal prosecutors Friday.
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Speaking on NBC's "Meet the Press" Sunday morning, Esaw Garner, the widow of Eric Garner, said she's left Staten Island because she's "afraid of the police." Sitting alongside the Rev. Al Sharpton, Ms. Garner said her husband was "murdered unjustly," referring to Garner's July 17 death in police custody in Tompkinsville. A Staten Island grand jury on Wednesday decided not to indict NYPD Officer Daniel Pantaleo, who placed Garner in a chokehold, on criminal charges.
That pic says it was a July 17 death, so why did it just make the news last week?
I stand corrected.
