It doesn’t matter if it was a choke hold or not. If I got in a tussle with this guy and he ended up dead, I would be facing manslaughter charges. The police need to be held to at least as high of a standard.

The difference between you in your scenario and the cop in the Garner scenario is that you are required to walk away from a fight while a cop who is making an arrest is tasked with completing the arrest.

Nonsense. Read any issue of NRA magazine where a gun was used to stop a crime. Plenty of those folks killed the perps, no charges.
