After delivering a quick and sharp joke on the subject, she and Poehler riff that Kenan Thompson, their resident Cosby impersonator, was too scared to comment on the allegations because of fear of reprisal.

You are correct.
It is like trying to tell someone about the all powerful Obama being an sociopath. Right after his first prez election I got the impression that he was. A few years later I was convinced. But how do you explain something like that to people who are completely enamored of the man?
Same thing for Cosby. Everyone deferred to him because of his position as Dr. Huxtable. Who would believe some girl who has anything nasty to say about him?
What has happened to Cosby will also happen to Obama.
He will be suddenly overwhelmed by the truth.
On one of those shows Tom Brokaw came out and said “just like you, Dave, I’m just another stooge working for Bill Cosby”.
