It is no secret Perry doesn't like Cruz. Heck, he tried to stop him from making it to Washington. Thankfully, he failed. But one has to realize Perry will do all he can to stop Cruz.
Perry is absolutely delusional if he thinks he has any chance at all. His debate debacles are campaign ad fodder alone.
