An Oncue Express station in Oklahoma City was selling the motor fuel for $1.99 a gallon Wednesday, becoming the first one to drop below $2 in the U.S. since July 30, 2010, Patrick DeHaan, a senior petroleum analyst at GasBuddy Organization Inc., said by email from Chicago.
"We knew when we saw crude oil prices drop last week that we'd break the $2 threshold pretty soon, but we didn't know if it would happen in South Carolina, Texas, Missouri or Oklahoma," said DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst for Gasbuddy. "Today's national average, $2.74, now makes the current price we pay a whopping 51 cents per gallon less than what we paid a year ago."

Adjusted for inflation 29 cent gas in 1955 is $2.57 today. We are getting close to fair value for oil and gas.
$2.63 near Twin Cities metro.
Leftists deeply saddened.
Yes! Thank goodness Obama healed the economy.
(just kidding).
About $3.25 here in the San Fernando valley near Los Angeles.
The gas tax is way high and the roads are full of potholes.
I remember in college being appalled that a gallon of gas cost 75 cents.
What the hell happened to Obama’s necessary 4 dollar per gallon gas?
Looks like the agitator in chief is getting pummeled with information his nitwit education never understood.
It’s not just the tax that makes the price of gasoline high in Los Angeles. The special blend that we are required to use is expensive for the refiners to produce.
Hunt around. I found it for 2.49 today in the north metro ;)
I don’t follow CA gas production.. but doesn’t it have to come from an instate refiner as well?
LOL I help put that jet back on the airport! I forgot about it.
” but doesnt it have to come from an instate refiner as well?”
I don’t think so. It just has to be a special blend that is only used in a very few spots in the US. And as a result a lot of refiners don’t want to bother making it.
> True, but is never going to regain the costs that the Arabs hope for! That is good for us!
and any moment now we will hear Obama say “I did that!” when it was the very thing he despises most that did it...the free market, supply and demand, and competition...all foreign concepts to the socialists among us....
$2.45 in Fort Mill, SC.
But how much did you make per hour?
Is that a square bale? In Oklahoma not many use alfalfa, makes my wife’s horse act like a kid on a sugar high. Bermuda square bales are going for around $5.00, Bermuda round bales about $50.00 per bale.
And odumbo is crying his eyes out for not getting that $8.00/gallon “jewel” he wanted and hoped for. BUT, he is working feavorishly to raise gasoline taxes nation wide.
Nestolgia.......I can remember when gasoline was $0.13/gallon back in the early 50’s.
I'm guessing you wouldn't care for your wage you had back then.
I’m ready for it. S. MS currently between $2.35 and $2,45 in most stations. Between both cars, we’re saving close to $100/month compared to 6 months ago.
