After Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu fired ministers Yair Lapid and Tzipi Livni on Tuesday paving the way for snap elections, a Channel 2 poll has shown what results can possibly be expected from the upcoming voting session.

According to the poll, Likud would remain the largest party if elections were held today, gaining 22 mandates. Jewish Home would strengthen to 17 mandates. The third largest party would be Labor, at 13 seats.

Yisrael Beytenu would gain ten seats, and the as yet unnamed new party of former Likud minister Moshe Kahlon would likewise gain ten, becoming the surprise of the elections.

The biggest loser in the elections would be Yair Lapid's Yesh Atid party, which was predicted to drop from 19 seats to a mere nine mandates. Livni's Hatnua would also weaken, dropping to four mandates.`

The hareidi Shas party would like Yesh Atid get nine seats, hareidi United Torah Judaism would get eight, the radical leftist Meretz party would get seven, while the three Arab parties would get 11 seats together.

Kadima, headed by MK Shaul Mofaz, would not pass the minimum threshold to make it into the Knesset according to the poll.

Good news. A lot of Israelites are liberals, but they aren’t suicidal. Livni has revealed herself further to them.
