Chris Rock tells white people to own the actions of their ancestors
Washington Times ^ | Dec. 1, 2014 | Jessica Chasmar

Chris Rock explained in a lengthy interview Sunday that he believes part of healing racial relations in America is by white people “owning” the actions of their ancestors.

The black comedian told New York magazine’s Frank Rich that racial progress in America is “nonsense” and that the only thing that’s changed is white people aren’t as crazy as they used to be.

Well, it happened a lot in the bible.

Where are my reparations?

I know Joseph was sold by his brothers but I don’t know of many other situations where people sold their own people as slaves.

I also believe the use of slaves in the Bible is what we would now refer to as indentured servants.

With all those ancestors, you have some work to do to own all their actions then!

Insofar as “white people” fought and died in a civil war, passed civil rights, and have been bending over backwards to promote racial harmony for the pas 50+ years - not to mention the billions in entitlements, seems to me that constitutes “owning” a situation.

Frankly, as long as black “leaders” continue to convince blacks that they are being abused the longer they will wear this 200-year-old petrified chip on their shoulders. It’s not only a racket, it’s a scam designed to empower the jacksons and the sharptons the world.

And now this hack comic Cris Rock joins the perpetual “slaves” in their endless quest of 40 acres and a mule. Seems to me with the number of cities they’ve taken over and the jackasses who lead them, there reparations have been more than satisfied.

Slaves were valuable! Indentured servants and hungry immigrants were more dispensable. Keep the stories going, and not just here. Every story worth telling is worth writing up for a journal. There are people hungry for these stories of real people and real struggles. Start with the county genealogical society where your ancestors lived. Submit a short piece, or at least provide them a narrative to put into their manuscript files. History is written by those who leave an historical record. This place is not enough. I challenge you all, tell your stories, document them, submit them, publish them. Or the prevailing narrative will drown them out, as it is intended to do, along with abysmal education of the young.

Chris Rock should shut up, he has a bit of a history in how he talks about his race. I would link to it, but it would probably be deemed to vulgar for the Mods.

He really should just shut up.

Allow me to correct myself.

I also believe the use of slaves in the Bible is what we would SOMETIMES refer to as indentured servants.

Same here.

Four Great great uncles fought in the Civil War. One died in Andersonville, two died at 2nd Battle of the Wilderness, the fourth survived the war.

The Old Testament economy permitted the use of conquered peoples as chattel or near-chattel slaves rather than killing them, under some circumstances.

The New Testament concept (under the Roman Empire) was closer to the modern indentured servant, who retained the right to purchase his or her own freedom.

620,000 men lost their life in the Civil War. Many more were wounded. Our ancestors owned it, but many in today’s black culture is squandering their gift of freedom.

A link with a suitable warning should be acceptable in most cases. Ask Jim Rob if not sure.

Yes, many are... and many people of other colors are too.

It is born of demoralization which is born of godlessness.

My ancestors fought a four year long vicious war to free your ancestors.

Mine too. And some of mine came here to begin their lives as indentured servants, another form of slavery.

But as a white man, I only have this observation from my "perch of privilege". The rich planters looking for cheap labor should have stuck with Scots-Irish indentured servants instead of importing Africans. Because, even back then, you got what you pay for.

“I have never heard an establishment, professional, progressive/ African-American, or White Progressive ever ACKNOWLEDGE, much less “thank” these dead men for their sacrifices, nor recognize the 260,000 White Union military who were wounded and/or grievously disabled, nor the widows, nor the children, nor the families of the military who also suffered.”

You won’t either, until the marvelous stories on this post are told and retold.

We tell them, our ancestors and related families bled, died horrible deaths, or lived fore-shortened lives, to free their ancestors from slavery. At this point, with affirmative action and welfare and etc., they have only to suffer — just guessing — about one twentieth of one percent of what those brave men suffered, to go the rest of the way. Is that too much to ask? Are they going to ignore blood sacrifice made in their behalf? Of course if we let them.

If they are held back, they might thank O-ma for allowing millions of illegal immigrants to take the first rungs of the ladder away from them. If they care. Just saying.
