AN AN ANALYSIS OF FERGUSON MY LIBERTARIAN FRIEND WROTE:

Trayvon Martin came from a broken family. Michael Brown, Jr. had a different name from his mother. Were his parents together?. Is that a pattern?

Malcolm X said to his followers that blacks had to clean up their acts. He said that for the black man to be accepted by the white man, he’d first have to make himself acceptable. He told blacks to start opening businesses, get jobs and work.

He knew history and told about how in NYC, Harlem had been an entertainment center. Whites went to Harlem in droves to see Cab Calloway, Duke Ellington, Lena Horne, Ella Fitzgerald, The Ink Sports, Billy Eckstine, etc. My parents confirmed that. He lamented that blacks had lost that.

Even in the 50s, white people were becoming hesitant to go to Harlem because of crime. By the 60s. we’d rarely venture there & by the 70s, whites wouldn’t go there on a bet.

In the late 60’s, I went to 52nd Street in Philadelphia with my brother who was visiting me as I was going to medical school. We were walking down the street, minding our own business, when a group of three or four young blacks, dressed in dashikis, wearing sandals and sporting Afros passed, going in the other direction. One shouted, as they passed us, “Mother f———g honkies! Get out of our neighborhood.”

We looked around & didn’t see a white face and no one rebuked them. We didn’t need a second invitation & hopped into a cab or onto a bus & high tailed it out of there.

We were there to spend money at either a black business or a business that employed soul brothers.
Now, you do that to enough visitors and potential customers, you just destroyed your commercial base. What good did those punk militants do for their fellow blacks? Malcolm would have had them taken behind the wood shed and read the riot act.

If you’re a store owner on a commercial street with other stores, you want strollers, looking n your windows, even if they’re just there to buy a newspaper, a candy bar or coffee & a donut. If you sell clothes, that buyer might come into your store & buy a shirt or a pair of socks.

If whitey has money, and blackie wants some of it, there’s a simple way for him to do it. Do something for him or sell him something. Those militants would call the guy who does it an sell out, maybe an Uncle Tom or an Oreo cookie. What he is is someone who’s trying to make it in the world.

Contrast that with this. Have you ever known of people being afraid to walk around in Chinatown, or Little Italy? Or a German, Polish, Irish or Jewish neighborhood?

What does this have to do with Ferguson? Everything. Did welfare laws make it easy for Martin’s & Brown’s parents to split up?. Did consequent indolence make it too comfortable for them? And did a general indolence lead to a high crime rate in the area?

As to Ferguson, they’ve focused on the proportion of blacks in the town. What about the proportion of welfare? Or are these questions that are too uncomfortable to be answered.

My conclusion? I’d rather live in a neighborhood of blacks with jobs and owning businesses than in one with whites on the dole.

Well he certainly is exactly Mr. innocent in all this. He certainly could have done things differently even though he isn’t even remorseful at all. Everyone is better off without him. Look at the mess he has made of the United States. Perhaps Europe would be a better place for him.
