Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi is headed to the Fontainebleau Miami Beach to lead a meeting with the Republican Attorneys General Association executive committee.
Bondi, named the new chair of the executive committee, said in a statement the selection was honor, coming at such a critical time in our countrys history.
However, Bondi has been under scrutiny recently because of news reports detailing how Washington lobbyists have sought to influence state attorneys general across the country.
Reports by The New York Times and the Tampa Bay Times have raised questions about some of Bondis association-funded travel and whether she has been influenced by lobbyists.
Several newspaper editorial boards have also questioned Bondis judgment, including an editorial from the Pensacola News Journal that called her relationships with lobbyists a clear dereliction of her duty and a perversion of the law that shes supposed to uphold.
No lobbyist, no person, no corporation, no individual, will ever compromise what we do in our office regarding unfair and deceptive trade practices, nor how we protect the consumers in the state of Florida, Bondi said last week in her defense.
The Republican Attorneys General Association, which receives funding from corporations, also defended the travel.
Like all national political organizations, RAGA pays for expenses for its member attorneys general that attend meetings to help with national fundraising, Jessica Medeiros Garrison, RAGA executive director said in an email last Wednesday. RAGA does this in full compliance with federal and state laws that regulate fundraising and political activity for RAGA and its member attorneys general.
The News Service of Florida contributed to this report.
Obama fundraises with a homosexual child molester, makes up immigration law out of whole cloth....and the media worships him.
Disgusting.
Come on 'lamestream media' folks - do your research on something real.
We have despicable, hypocritical, lying, deceitful, parasites working together to shield thier criminals from the same allegations they try to tag the opposite side with. Im tired of these treasomist enemies of our country
My comment on the CBS Miami comment thread:
This is typical propaganda as spread by American Pravda (ABCNNBCBS). Sort of like when Steve Kroft of CBS defended Candy Crowley’s lie in the debate between Obama and Romney. “Yes he did call call Benghazi terrorism!” interjected Crowley. Actually, Obama did NOT. And the day after Benghazi 9-11, Kroft kept a scheduled interview with Obama, and tried repeatedly to pin Obama down on whether Benghazi was an act of terror, and Obama would NOT say that it was. How did Kroft defend Crowley’s debate interference and perpetration of a falsehood? By NOT reporting news that they already had.
So even after the Crowley “assist” in the debate, when Kroft’s interview would have been blockbuster news (but bad for Obama) Kroft and CBS News shamefully hid the existence of the interview until weeks later, on the day before the election, and they only gave it a brief mention because a few CBS reporters heard inside network rumors about it, and threatened to go public outside the network.
This is how American Pravda works. Hide news that harms Dear Leader Obama. And when there is news about the Republicans, report the shell story (Bondi leading GOP AGs group on Obama’s illegal executive amnesty) in the first paragraph, with no why or analysis. Then flip to a discrediting narrative, to cause readers to reject the GOP AGs initiative before they even know what it is about.
Typical “journalism” as practiced by ABCNNBCBS, “American Pravda.”
See #4. It’s a classic study. Everybody needs to read Sharyl Atkisson’s incredible book STONEWALLED.
This is a classic case of CBS acting as a White House propaganda outlet. No doubt the Bondi “travel scandals” talking points came pre-packaged from the White House War Room, to Media Matters, and up the chain intact to ABCNNBCBS.
I seem to recall some FR complaints re: Bondi during the Zimmerman trial. She played a major role in appointing the emotionally disturbed prosecutor who tried to nail Zimmerman’s hide to the wall.
‘”When I worked with Governor Scott to appoint State Attorney Angela Corey to the case involving Trayvon Martin, I did so with the full confidence that a swift and thorough investigation would be conducted. Today, State Attorney Corey’s decision to press charges against George Zimmerman for the shooting of Trayvon demonstrates Corey’s commitment to bringing justice to Trayvon’s family and allowing due process for Zimmerman.” — Pam Bondi, Florida Attorney General’
I simply cannot imagine any politician being influenced by lobbyists. Lobbyists make millions because of the kindness of strangers.
