This story is a reminder how a person’s life can change in a split second. Darren perobably got up for work that day and coould never have imagined just how the direction of his whole life would change before the day was over.

He went from being some obscure cop in Ferguson to having his name known all over the place. He spent several months hiding to stay alive. He was reviled by people who didn’t even know him that wished him harm, or to be imprisoned for the rest of his life.

He waited to see what his fate would be. I am sure he was relieved as hell on Monday and thinking about where he will go and what he will do from that moment.

I hope he gets far away from that place and can find a place where he can rebuild his life.

I wonder what sort of financial planning is being done to divest his portfolio and reduce to zero that which a civil trial will attempt to steal from him. What an awful way to have to wake up wondering if everything you were planning is going to be taken from you... for merely doing your job.
