And why do they call it Black Friday. Seems racist.

The term ‘Black Friday’ is an accounting term. Before computer accounting programs, profits were shown in black pen. Debits were shown in red pen.
Most companies say that they operate throughout the year in the ‘red’. ‘Black Friday’ is the day that they can finally write in black pen.
It has absolutely nothing to do with racism unless one happens to be black. ;-)
