President Obama has opened a new front in his hard line against the incoming Republican Congress by releasing more detainees from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, against lawmakers' objections.
The Pentagon announced Thursday that four al Qaeda fighters from Yemen, including a senior figure who facilitated travel to Afghanistan for Arab extremists, and a Tunisian extremist would be transferred to Slovakia and Georgia.
The transfers leave 143 detainees at Guantanamo, which Obama has vowed to close. Republican lawmakers, who have been pressing the administration to stop releasing detainees amid reports that some former prisoners had joined the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, were furious.

Actually, I have to agree with this move: Either do something with these terrorist, like shoot them, or let them go. We aren’t running a life-time prison here. I prefer interrogate then eliminate, but this limbo we have them in is just stupid.
They are prisoners of war. The war is not over, propaganda from the administration notwithstanding. When it is over, we can discuss prisoner returns.

War with whom, exactly? We are always at war with crime, which terrorism is. We will never not be at “war” with terrorism. Specifically, how do you define the war being over? Exactly what metrics do we use to determine when the war is over?

I’d rather stop paying for that and shoot them instead. If they have no further use to us then discard them. We can never let them go so dispatch them.
I noticed he the admin did this during his speech, at least it was on the crawl while he was talking. Yeah I watched it.
Why not? His intent from day 1 has been to destroy this country and no one is going to stop him.
Of all the worries Obama has, a fight with the GOP is the least of them.
Obama’s war is not with terrorists, illegals, ISIS, he is far more forgiving of those who cut heads off of Americans. His war is with the Republicans, thus a great segment of America. His childhood had to have been filled with a constant diatribe against America.
How does anyone define the end of a war? When one side stops fighting and the other obtains its objectives. When the Islamists stop putting us in their crosshairs, we will have won. Until then, we don't hand over our prisoners to those who will re-enlist them to put is in their crosshairs.

How about when you have obliterated the enemy and they cease to exist or they unconditionally surrender?
Do you expect to obliterate all muslims or get them all to unconditionally surrender? Of course not. Impractical if not impossible.
