The world still isn't close to preventing a dangerous level of man-made warming, a new United Nations report says. That's despite some countries recent pledges to cut back on carbon dioxide emissions. The report looks at the gap between what countries promise to do about carbon pollution and what scientists say needs to be done to prevent temperatures rising another two degrees the goal world leaders set in 2009. To meet it, the world has to hit a peak of carbon dioxide, methane and other greenhouse gases before 2030, said the report's chief scientific editor, Joseph Alcamo-Gruber.

I can't wait for the knuckleheads to come up with an idea to install a dimmer on old SOL! I seem to recall someone having a brilliant idea to fly a huge flexible mirror into space to reflect sunlight away from the Earth. it's scary sometimes what scientists come up with.

I remember back in the 70s when the scientists agreed we were going into a new ice age, some were proposing covering the arctic with coal dust to absorb more heat from the sun and melt the glacier sheets. I’m not sure how that was supposed to work after the first snowfall.

I think the topic headline referred to global warming not climate change....that is what I was addressing.

Glowbull warming, Climate Change, Glowbull cooling... no matter. It's just the term for the day of what the left wants to call it. Still amounts to their thinking that man is setting the earth to disaster by his activity.

The world isn't even close to stopping nature from doing what it has always done, change. That's it in a nutshell.
To me expecting the temperatures to stay the same century after century is unrealistic. We have history to show that,
A little global warming, 1-2 deg would seem preferable to a cooling of 1-2 deg.
Whatever happens, there will be adjustments to be made. Climate change doesn't come on horseback so sensible people will have time to adjust one way or the other. -tom

This morning it was 18 degrees at my house. The normal average is 33. The record cold is 17, that was in 1962.
I just have to keep remembering what the AGW High Priests tell me... Cold means warm.
To: Oldeconomybuyer
the UN isn’t even close to explaining to everyone how just 0.004% of our atmosphere, the mount of CO2 in our atmosphere, can cause global warming- the amount of CO2 in atmosphere isn’t even 1/10’th of 1%- there is no way this small amount can be causing global climate change- none- period! Where are the GOP to get this word out and stop all this ‘man is causing climate change’ NONSENSE???
