Members enrolled in Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvanias Affordable Care Act plans will see their premium rates rise by an average of 6.9 percent in 2015.
Officials for the Wilkes-Barre-based insurer declined to specify how many members are covered by its Affordable Care Act plans. Its website shows 12 available 2014 Blue (Affordable Care Act) Metal plans.
The increases are necessary to meet the coverage requirements, including essential health benefits, of the (Affordable Care Act) and to keep up with the cost of care for members in our ACA products, said Anthony Matrisciano, spokesman for Blue Cross of NEPA, which has about 550,000 members across 13 counties.

To unaffordable levels???
My BCBS is getting a healthy double digit percentage increase.
No thanks to the wun and all of his damned fellow travelers.
I hear about the increase in premium rates. I would like to hear about the average increase in deductibles. This is where a lot of people will get hammered.
Someone I know(dem) bragging about how aca is helping her. She doesn’t work, can’t find work but also gave up looking.
Wait’ll she sees how well they take care of her.
Maybe BCBS now stands for Big Costs Big Spending?
Add this to the equation:
"3143 counties and county equivalents of the United States of America as of July 1, 2013"
And there's a recipe for hell to pay.
I see a huge surge in Conservative comebacks across the nation if
the politicians who run, embrace it. The RATs had their chance and blew it.
Obama/Dems are a failure, they failed, and nobody but them did this.
I will repeat what I witnessed on the Roberts verdict over Obamacare,
"the Dems did not expect it to pass. I repeat, They did not expect it to pass -Period-!"
MY BCBS premium will go up 60% if I keep a policy with similar features to the one I had last year (which was canceled). Can’t afford it - going to a catastrophic plan and working extra hard to keep healthy.
Sounds like a good name.
I do my best to keep medical visits to absolute minimum.
Not me. Come January our insurance premiums will have gone up a full 30-40 percent since they started talking Obamacare. We are now at about $1350 per month premiums alone. I am going to the doctor with every single ache and sniffle I get and make them run every test that’s even slightly related. Gonna get every penny I can out of it.
Unless you forgot the /sarc tag, I take it your individual and family deductible is met and your co-pays and coinsurance are nil.
I had breast cancer and still have routine things at the cancer center. My deductible is met in January of every year.
That $1350 is for 2 of us, hubby and me. Yeah I know.......fricken ridiculous. Hubby has low co pays so yeah we will be high tailing it to the doc for everything.
Best wishes to y’all.
I have nothing significant to report but the first sore throat in about 5 years just arrived. And I did get the flu shot and take prodigious D3, etc.
Thx steve86. Best wishes to you and feel better.
Thanks! Oh gawd, just found out it’s EVD-68. I’m gonna be in the newz!
