It's my understanding that in addition to holding the majorities in both houses of congress, the Republicans now hold something like 30 governorships and control 66% of all state legislatures. If this is true, it would appear that the socialist/progressive Democrat Party's hold over the people is finally breaking and the star of freedom is rising. Question: why should we think that the Republican party is not a progressive, statist party?
After all, they did push Romney in `12; and they've rolled over on many sure-win issues (IRS, NSA, etc); and they've given indication that they want amnesty.
In short, I think it's probably a big mistake to equate Republican with liberty/freedom/justice/responsibility/accountability.

I say that’s why we’re fighting the GOPe. Now is not the time for pussyfooting around with hand wringing RINOs or moderates. It’s time to promote, support and elect rock-ribbed conservatives!!

The GOP is still leaned a bit more towards God than the Democrat party is. And hence is what advantage it still has.
The future belongs to the evangelists, if we have to speak in such earthly terms.
