On Thursday, Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) showed disdain for conservatives who object to massive amnesty legislation that he wants a GOP-led Congress to enact. To Corker, those who oppose amnesty because they care about the rule of law, American workers, and sovereignty and secure borders are nothing but "demagogues."
“I get really frustrated with people on my side of the aisle who say that anything you do on immigration is amnesty,” Corker reportedly said on Thursday. “I saw it play out in these congressional races, where people were actually trying to solve the problem, and the only word people used was amnesty.”
Corker, who was behind the sham amendment to give cover to Republicans voting for the Senate's massive "Gang of Eight" amnesty bill, said he hopes that "we don’t let demagogues prevail, and that we finally deal with this issue and put it behind us."
Corker took issue with opponents of the Senate's "Gang of Eight" bill who pointed out that giving a pathway to citizenship to all of the country's illegal immigrants amounted to "amnesty." Corker reportedly "stressed that under the bill it would have taken 15 years to go through the process of gaining legal status, and that it also would have denied federal benefits to anybody in the country illegally for 10 years."
“I don’t know, is that amnesty?” he scoffed.

Every Republican Senator and every Republican Congressman needs to understand this:
We don't trust you.
The Federal government is to blame for creating the illegal alien problem in the first place. You failed to deliver on the promises made after passage of Simpson-Mazzoli in 1986. You didn't do your duty...and secure the border.
Accordingly, to proe to your voters that you can be trusted again, you must assume responsibility for the mess you made -- and clean it up!
That starts with securing the borders against further intrusions. And finishes with enforcing the current laws regarding illegal entry, illegal employment and illegal access to public assistance.
Once you've proven you can do your duty and enforce the laws, we can talk about where we go from there.

There are ample immigration laws on the books and they aren’t being followed.
Why should the American people believe that the government will enforce new laws when they refuse to enforce current laws?
Well Bob we get frustrated with asshats that do not enforce our laws though elected to do so and reward criminals over those that legally entered the US

Pardon me for being just a little cynical, but I have ALWAYS believed that the goal of amnesty, is to assure permanent one party rule in America. I don't believe there is any other reason than that. I don't believe for a minute that the rats really care about a bunch of disenfranchised people coming across the border. It is ALL ABOUT one party control.

My post: That 1982 Supreme Court ruling is the reason we need Constitutional amendments like the following to try to control illegal immigration:
1. "School attendance: Only citizens, legal residents, those with special student visas can attend elementary, high school, and colleges in the United States."
2. "One parent must be a citizen before a newborn child is given automatic citizenship."
3. Felony: We must finally get very serious and declare that crossing the border illegally is a felony. It sounds mean to call it a felony, but we must do it, if we will ever have any chance of controlling our borders. Having the same illegals crossing our borders over and over is wrong,wrong, and wrong.
Illegal immigrant parents come to the United States for the wonderful benefits that their children can receive, like a quality education and great health care. Can you blame them for making the dangerous, long trip with their young children, or sending their children by themselves with the hope that the United States will automatically let them stay?
I don't understand how a child can illegally cross the southern border one day and automatically be eligible to enroll in public school the next day. That is wrong.
I saw this last week and immediately fired off an email to the little twerp, blasting him. Not the first time. not the last. One o’ these days I’m going to go too far and say something that’ll have the Feds knocking down our door to haul me off. He infuriates me. Lamar! does too.
Why don’t they understand that if illegals get to stay in the country at all, that’s amnesty? WE understand it. And we don’t want it.

I don’t see why anyone who did not immigrate legally should receive federal or state benefits.
There were 10,000 2 weeks ago at the LA Convention Center who were sworn in as US citizens.
What is so special about these 5 million illegals who CANT wait? You mean they are so stupid they can’t even fill in form properly?
Took me 5 years to get my green card, and another 2 just to get ready for the exit interview from Montreal. We waited and did this properly. I see through this BS sob story about their plights. Corker should kiss my ass with his amnesty illegals-loving lips..
Corker reminds me of those clueless people who let their GPS send them into a lake. In this case, it is not the GPS. It is the smell of money for their off shore bank accounts. For that they will drive their nation off the cliff.
There are good laws that would not be Amnesty. For example, secure the borders and do nothing else until the borders are actually secured in accordance with a law that is being followed. Then revise immigration enforcement so that the penalties for hiring illegals are so steep that no one will hire illegals for legal jobs, and do nothing else until the market for illegals has dried up because employing them is too costly. Then revamp the legal immigration system and do nothing else until legal immigrants have displaced any remaining illegals.
There is a lot that can be done productively and would be supported by decent Americans, none of it Amnesty. The trick? Don't reward criminal behavior.
Sorry Corker but the “demagogues” won and we also kicked Eric Cantor out on his ass. So the days of having any chance of getting an unconditional Amnesty out of Congress ARE OVER. You and Boener can cry all you want.
