The flaw in your thinking is that many million registered Republicans voted for Mitt because they seriously thought he was the best candidate.

Yeah, and they were all in states like Massachusetts, New York and Connecticut, where the nominee gets to lose by 20 points instead of 25 points. Oh, and Utah, where he wins by 40 points instead of 30 points.

I realize now that I left three important words out of my comment.

The flaw in your thinking is that many millions of registered Republicans voted for Mitt in the primaries because they seriously thought he was the best candidate.

I stand by everything else I said, with that correction in mind.
