Good evening, Maestro! To be frank, I have been so tied up lately that I have not yet had a chance to listen to your posts.
After work yesterday I touched down at home for about 20 minutes, then off to choir until about 10:00 - then home and to bed.
I am well familiar with "An Sylvia" and worked on it myself for some time. I never got the piece into shape where I felt I could perform it.
Not familiar with "Thekla" - I'll l priceless!

O stranger, tell the Lacedaemonians that we lie here, obedient to their command.
Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

Schubert wrote “Sylvia” in such a way that it could be sung in either German or English. He was a huge fan of the Schlegel Brothers who translated Shakespeare into German preserving the meter and bawdy Renaissance wordplay.

"I'll l priceless!" = "I'll look at it over the weekend. The Puccini is, of course, priceless!"
Sorry about the truncation.
