I say with all sadness that I will never walk inside the National Cathedral again, until it has been purified from the stench of heresy. The next time I go to DC, I think I will go instead to Holy Comforter-St Cyprian behind the Lincoln Memorial, for even as a Lutheran I will find much more of the Holy Comforter in Msgr. Pope’s Catholic church than can be found in the no-longer-National Cathedral.
I hate to say it, but you are correct. I would occasionally go to the National Cathedral to see its beautiful grounds, attend Friday evensong, or marvel at the peace and quiet of such a magnificent building on a spring day. What's happened there in the last 10+ years is disgusting.
It’s a building. Buildings don’t last forever. They crumble, they fall. The honor of some stone and wood is not the important matter at stake. Maybe it SHOULD lose its honor, then people will think about the God that needs to be honored above all if all is to be well.
The abominations of desolation do their worst harm, not in buildings, but in hearts.
