Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) says a Senate Armed Services Committee under his leadership would try to uncover more details about President Obamas decision to exchange Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl's for five Taliban prisoners.
Oh yeah, were going to find out about that, McCain told reporters on Thursday.
Absolutely. Absolutely. You can count on that one, he added. Bergdahls release became a flash point earlier this year, after the White House went around Congress to secure his release by swapping five Taliban detainees from Guantánamo Bay.
The trade for Bergdahl angered Capitol Hill Democrats and Republicans, as the administration kept the prisoner exchange secret until after it was completed, ignoring a law requiring 30 days advance notice to members of Congress before any detainee release from Guantánamo.

If the Republicans spent all their time having hearings and passing bills we want, that would not bother me one bit.
Hey Barry! Your cows are coming home to roost! (Sorry Leslie. RIP).
What are they looking to get for him?
When is the last time Senator McCain got to the bottom of anything?
Translation: Will you Tea Thuglicans get off my back? Meghan, grab daddy a beer from the fridge.
You mean other than a bottle or carton of Chinese take out?
The rest of the article mentions that McCain will probably delegate the Bergdahl matter to a new subcommittee that will focus on investigations. Jeff Sessions would be a possibility for chairman of that I think.
Thus saith Owebamas Lyre.
Hey Juan, stop amnesty for 5 million illegals THEN deal with the traitor Bowe.
Well, I hope to hell that they do.
But who cares what McCain says?
The hold hearings on all kinds of stuff, but they never do anything about it later. As if they expect a hearing to placate conservatives.
I don’t know what there is to investigate. Barry broke the law by not informing Congress 30 days prior to anyone being released. Rather than a show committee for McCain to showboat, how about just proceeding to impeachment.
So what’s the worst that can happen, “ethics violation”, a censure? Can the hearings reveal evidence that might be used later in a criminal case?
Why can’t we just beat them?
We should give Bergdahl back to his Talibuddies. We can throw in McCain, too.
Why do I think that if McLame says it will happen it has already been buried?
Because he’s a terd?
The mens club with Lindsay.
That might be it. ;-)
Throwing out some bread crumbs to the birds (wacko birds), John.
