|Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday he would like President Barack Obama to wait for Congress to pass legislation funding the government before he takes executive action giving deportation relief to undocumented immigrants.
The president said he is going to do the executive action, the Nevada Democrat said heading in to a Democratic lunch. The question is when. Its up to him. Id like to get the finances of this country out of the way before he does it. But its up to him.
Reid said the president was aware of his preference.

McConnell and Cornyn surrender to Reid once again...
The Nevada mob boss has spoken!
Obama doesn’t care what Reid thinks either!!
/spit
Do not fund the Government until new Reps are sworn in! It is not freaking Rocket Science!
Oh right.
Of course...that way the GOP can't attach a "stopper" paragraph to the funding legislation. Reid isn't stupid, he's just a dick.
Yup
In other words, guarantee the money then screw the country.
Good to see the election losers setting the agenda.
Uh, the election losers are still in charge until Jan.
Agree with you.
Mitch McConnell and John Boehner should declare that they will not agree to pass a budget until Obama publicly states that he will not approve amnesty through a dictatorial executive action.
The public will strongly approve of this.
If the Republican leaders are too timid to act, then Ted Cruz and other brave Republicans should come forward and state that they will refuse to vote on a budget without a clear no-executive-order promise from Obama.
Then, if the government shuts down because a budget wasn’t approved, it will be Obama’s fault for not agreeing to such a promise.
Then Obama can spend his annual three-week vacation in Hawaii while the rest of us remain freezing up here without a working government.
A quote from Reid to find out what McConnell’s thinking.
Reid is just doing some public positioning.
Ok, we have to do the work the GOP in Congress can’t do. We need to taunt Reid, and Obama, taunt and mock them as being too weak to do Exec Amnesty. Our Reps can’t take that angle but we can cover it!
Obama has no authority to grant amnesty now or in January.
The House can resist this executive overreach now or in January.
The House will not resist this executive overreach now or in January.
It's not complicated.
The Republican Establishment has been exposed as collaborators --fellow traveler progressives.
Excellent strategy.
Yet you and I both know that McConnell and Boehner will do nothing. They've already promised not to "shut down" the government.
So what's going on? The leaders of the Republican party are Fabian socialists, or controlled by socialists.
