Does anyone have a link to an article explaining the "reduction in U.S. food stamp benefits?"
I ask because every client I interview at a local food/clothing bank has seen a substantial increase in food stamps in the last month or so.
Here's a real kick: about 50% of the interviewees are unaware they got an increase.
Food stamps where lowered a small amount last year. For example if you had been getting say $750 per month, you where cut back to $719 per month. A reduction of around 4%. Most people wouldn’t even notice.
You’re correct, we still spend incredible amounts of money on Food Stamps. The growth EXPLODED when Barry Soetoro took charge in 2009 through 2013, and then all it did was level off slightly. It seems like the WalMart millionaires expected the steep increases every year.

I’ve not heard of ANY reduction in food stamp benefits...just the opposite...that the number continues to increase. Thanks to 0bola. Here’s an article from 2013, with stats, and I don’t think they’ve gone down. Nice try, Walmart.

There has been no general increase in SNAP benefits in my state.
Got back $5 of the $11 they cut last year. Guess how much they got back depends on how many people are in the household.
I get $194 now, it dropped from $200 last year to $189.
At first that $11 cut didn’t matter too much but when the price of meat went up I missed having that little bit extra.
They sent a letter but didn’t say why it went back up.
