Will now have to pay an average of 7 percent more for the lowest-cost bronze plan.
Democrats still looking out for the poor.

It’s a Tax.
The Tax is paid without Benefit to the Taxpayer.
Taxation without Representation.

Most low income families (that I'm aware of) get thousands of dollars at tax time (that they never paid in) so a little bit of a hit on that will not even be noticed by them...
But more than likely they won't take a hit at all on their unwarranted refund...That fee will still come out of the general fund that is collected from the people who really do pay taxes...
So if you have Obamacare AND pay taxes, you will be paying the penalty for those poorer families who don't pay anything anyway...

Sounds like they are giving you 3 choices: paying a fine with money you may not have, signing on to a policy which you can’t afford,or getting a policy you later lose because you can’t afford it & being assessed the penaly again.

I thought it was a tax; not a penalty. Well, you see, there's one single factor to consider: the elite see themselves as above the law, unbound by it — moreso the judiciary, which sees itself as kings, declaring what the law is, wrapping themselves in the law and declaring it to be supreme.
Thus it is whatever is convenient to consider it.
And that's why I consider the judiciary the most lawless of the branches.

My sister refused to sign up for insurance because she has a $400 car payment and a $300 a month cell phone bill. She works part time as a receptionist. She and my brother supported Obamacare because they thought it would help them but neither can afford it.

The holidays are a good time to wear pajamas, drink hot chocolate and talk to people about paying tax penalties.

And that's why I consider the judiciary the most lawless of the branches. If you have Netflix, check out "The Trial," by Orson Welles. It's a surrealistic version of Kafka's book. I'm not much for surrealism or much of anything Modern, but Kafka intuited something fundamentally wrong with modern society (and law), and Welles brought this nightmarish intuition to life in a mesmerizing way.

a 27-year-old earning 250 percent of the poverty rate will now have to pay an average of 7 percent more for the lowest-cost bronze plan. How is a 27-year-old pajama boy going to come up with a $6k deductible, in addition to the premium? Why enroll? Better to pay the fine and take a number at the emergency room.

How is a 27-year-old pajama boy going to come up with a $6k deductible, in addition to the premium? Why enroll? Catastrophic insurance plans are ACA compliant for people under the age of 30. They are a bit cheaper than a bronze plan. At that age, your insuring against injury and other things that 27 year olds do. If they weren't buying it at $100 a month, I doubt they will be buying it at $200 a month..
