In 2008 I held my nose
and pulled for McCain, to my shame… but I promised myself I'd never hold my nose
again.
When Romney won
the primaries for 2012 it signaled to me that the Republican Party had no intention of doing anything of any drastic difference than the Democrats — this is why I find nothing at all surprising about their push for amnesty, or their non-action on the IRS (or NSA, or Fast and Furious, etc).
Yet, when it comes time for all these holier-than-thou type conservatives to make the jump, they won't do it. Until they are ready to do so, they need to shut up and figure out how to "save" the GOP. If they can't, then drop it and make the plunge. Stop just telling us about it.
*shrug* — I've come across a fair amount of people who are coming around to the realization that if the Party doesn't stand for the things we want (like e.g. fiscal responsibility) then they've no reason for existence, much less support.
You’re missing my point.
It’s easy for FReepers to sit around on a forum and complain and swear that they’re never gonna vote Republican again.
It’s a lot harder to actually do something about it. And most FReepers are afraid to do the heavy lifting needed to do anything about it.
So until they change that, there’s no reason to pay them any mind.
