I hope he succeeds. It would have been great if he had primaried Lamar The Mediocre.
Maybe he can encourage a congressman to step up for Corkers seat if Carr isn’t interested in it himself. This sounds like he’s got plans for running though.
I confess I have been friendly with Chris Devaney in recent years through social and kids school circumstances and have known him to be accessible and decent
But I also know he’s part of Corker’s and the Lookout MT money crowds major establishment influence on TN GOP
He is a social conservative in his home life but these guys see culture war as a loser in national politics...like the Bushes or Roger Ailes
Its just that simple
Carr frankly doesn’t strike me as the best culture warrior TN has to offer but I guess he’ll have to do
My hunch is Andy Miller whom I also have known through business and family is behind this Carr push
Andy is our states largest single true conservative money backer....he and his daddy Woody
They have had some successes....and failures
