Republicans now are out of excuses

This off-year election shellacking Obama took was his second in six years. The Democratic Party has been hemorrhaging seats in every election but his own.

In 2010 the Democrats lost the House in one of the most embarrassing and lopsided drubbings in some 70 years. Now, in 2014, history not only repeated itself, but it did so with double exclamation points.

That being the case, one is forced to wonder how support for Obama’s policies was able to spell the end of careers for so many but not spell the end of Obama. I know this is the point the “he stole the election” choirs start to warm up, but I did not believe that to be the case in 2012, and I do not believe it to be the case now. I believe the reason he survived both election (white-guilt notwithstanding) and re-election is because conservative voters recognized John McCain and Mitt Romney for what they were and said no to them both.

This coming conflict is a good thing, text book. Obama is the anvil and we will hammer out the RINO blood. It will now be impossible for RINO’s to find the tall grass, the last election has shorn that. It is all out in the open now no political cover for the RINO, I love it. One of the two Parties will be destroyed by 2016. Either the DEMS bail and become Republican which means the Right will forma new Party or the DEMS survive as populist sentiment erodes with REPUBLICAN capitulation. Either way a new right wing Party should emerge.

“In Missouri, our legislators, Republican of course, have said,”...It may not be a hill we want to climb.” When referencing bringing up Right to Work legislation. Republicans control both houses and can easily override Gov’s veto. But I have little faith in them.”

If Michigan can pass RTW and have the unions crawl off with little more than a whimper, then MO certainly can do the same. Remind your lawmakers of that fact!

Impeachment is not a credible option unless you have at least 67 US Senators willing to vote for conviction.

Agreed. "Please don't throw me into the briar patch!"

An impeachment attempt is just what he and the Dems want. It would give them a chance to play the race card to the hilt and tie up the legislative process leading up to 2016. I think it would lead directly to election of a Dem in '16.

The law and the courts are the only answers to his anti-Constitutional crimes. They're slow and not as immediately satisfying as impeachment but just might save the Republic.

They may be out of excuses but they have a long way to go to screw things up as bad as the Democrats have.

The Republicans have no reason for not reining in Obama the final two years of his term. Republicans have sat silent as Obama opened our borders, allowing every form of disease, gangs and drugs to cross into our country. They have sat silent as Holder has run the Justice Department like a black Klu Klux Klan. Republicans have sat silent as Obama has transpicuously violated the Constitution at will. They blustered and pontificated, but in the final analysis they’ve done nothing to bring this administration to justice for Fast and Furious or the murders Tyrone Woods, Glen Doherty, Sean Smith and Ambassador Stevens Obama permitted in Benghazi. Republicans have made excuse after excuse for the debt-ceiling increases, the payroll tax debacle and Obama’s unconstitutional meddling in the Middle East. They have sat silent as Obama has used executive orders to bypass congressional authority.

The time is now gentlemen.

But in sayig no to McCain and Romney, they gave us Obama....and more Obama. And they will give us Clinton or Warren in 2016 if the temper tantrum continues.

That's Damn Straight!

If the GOP-E manages to cheat/finagle another Progressive Liberal nominee like Mitt Romney and not a conservative, then yes, you will probably have another 8 years of a Democrat.

Oh, and quit with the left-wing tactic of deceitful mislabeling principled conservatives who won't vote for Pro-Abortion or Pro-Gay Agenda Progressive Liberals like Mitt Romney.

They are just getting started on excuses. The first up will be we don’t own the White House sorry. If they should stumble into winning it in 2016 they will claim they don’t have a veto proof senate, next will come but the law says xyz and who are we to change that...

It is not about excuses. It is about the Constitution. Power is divided. Soetoro is still POTUS. He can veto anything he doesn’t like. It takes 2/3 vote to override a presidential veto.

In order to get real significant change, you need to have the POTUS and the Congress all on the same page.

The GOP’s impressive win last week changed one thing: Before the election, Harry Reid simply refused to allow a vote on anything he or Soetoro didn’t like. Now Soetoro doesn’t have that luxury or political cover anymore. He will have to use his veto power himself as opposed to relying on Reid to quash everything he doesn’t like.

We still have divided government. That fact will not change for two more years. It’s not making excuses. It’s stating plain and simple facts.

Only ten Democrat senators are up in 2016, and eight of them are invulnerable.

Hmmm, seems we had all three under Bush but nothing changed then either. Here’s to hope...

The Republicans never seem to have any issue they are willing to fight for. If the GOP leadership had been in charge in Korea in 1950 they would have made their stand against the Norks in Antarctica and then only because they could retreat no further. As I said, here’s to hope...

You’re right.

We did have all three under GWB.

And I think things went reasonably well (not perfect of course) until the Dems took control of both houses of Congress in 2006.

Then it all went to hell shortly thereafter.

That is what I remember.

Bring back American jobs.

Someone is eventually doing to stand up. I sure hope the GOP gets there before the dems do.

That is all I’m saying. If the dems get there first, I fear the result.
