$6000? That’s darn cheap. Thank your lucky stars that’s ALL it is. We are approaching $16000 in premiums alone for hubby and me.

Long before my premiums get that high, I will dump it, they are about $5,000 now. $1,000 deductible per person, $2,000 per family, then it's 80/20 to a max out of pocket of an additional $1,000, then they pay 100%.

Mine is complicated by the fact that I'm 69 and on medicare and my former employer is secondary insurer for me but primary insurer for my wife and two minor children.

That sounds awfully high. You say for your husband and yourself. Is it a family plan which covers children or simply one plan which covers both you and he?

Why bother at that price? You'd most likely be better off paying out of pocket.
