Several years ago another FReeper and I tried telling guys on a thread that that behavior was demeaning, degrading and disrespectful to women and it showed them to be shallow and immoral. It turned into a flame war and the thread was pulled. Our society has slid into immorality and you won’t change that anymore than we could. Sadly it is what it is.

I don’t care what the others say, I thought this was a great rant! One that will become a Freeper classic.
I’ve been in a “coyote ugly” situation but I never thought about suicide. Maybe amputation, but not suicide.
Compared with most other public sites, FR is quite classy.
First, on it’s own right FR has a tremendous amount of topical diversity you don’t normally see on political sites. Look at the ping lists: Gardening, Formula 1 racing, World War II Daily posts, College Football, the Canteen (which is as wholesome as apple pie thanks to the lovely ladies who host), modern music, Astronomy Picture of the Day. There are many more and I can’t even count them.
2. Compare this site to Democrat Underground. I’ve read their content but only once or twice as prolonged exposure would be detrimental to your soul. That place is, quite simply, a cesspool. I don’t know how human beings can choose to wallow in it.
3. We need to keep a free exchange of ideas going. And in my opinion, the best way to do that is through humor. Not all attempts at humor will be funny. Not everyone will “get it.” But, let us let our hair down. Particularly for guys, this is what we do.
4. I think the Admin Mods to a great job of keeping the trash off this site.
So thank you Jim Rob for hosting a wonderful site, and for letting us have some fun, too.
Moreover, posting it in 'Front Page News' only increased the likelihood of massive piling on.
If you'd chosen to whine/attack the whole 'Amish' meme, you would've been on to something.
But as it is, given the multitude of true fusterclucks piled on our collective daily plate, this one smacks a bit of 'turtle on post'.
Could it possibly have anything to do with a 0344 posting time ?
