They have been restored to their covenant land just as prophesied. End time fulfillment will take place in the holy land and Israel will be principal in these events.

Seriously though, they still hold favor with God. They are God’s chosen people. I didn’t make that up, God did.
I know that’s a popular view, but its contrary to the scriptures. The Mosaic covenant given at Sinai (Exodus 18 ff.) and when the Hebrews entered the promised land (Deuteronomy 28)) was made expressly conditional. God spoke through the prophets plainly about how Israel broke those conditions and lost their favored status (see Jeremiah 31:32, for example).
That status has been granted to God’s people, of all nations, under a new covenant now:
“This covenant between God and the people of Israel was temporary — God promised a day when He would make a new covenant, not only with Israel but also with all mankind. “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah — not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says the Lord. But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people” (Jer. 31:31-34).”
The Jews have lost their tribal purity, their priests, the Mosaic system of worship, the temple, and everything that went with it. Their mixed race descendants have taken a tumultuous sliver of their former lands, but that’s it. The incorrect idea that ‘Israel has been restored” stems from a false 19th C. doctrine of premillinialism that has become prevalent in the modern times.
