And can you point to where exactly they are doing this?

Example off the top of my head? How about AT&T's attempted blocking of FaceTime/Hangouts?

Net neutrality isn't about giving anyone anything for free; it's about not letting ISPs choose what you can consume. It's about making ISPs "dumb pipes" for the internet and allowing people to choose what they use that bandwidth for.

No one is suggesting that the heavy Netflix user pay the same rate as the bandwidth sipper, but that they both have access to the same services. The general Republican lack of understanding on this issue is not helping bring young conservatives into the fold. They look clueless and out of touch.

That’s it exactly.

The problem with Comcast et al is that they are an ISP AND a cable TV company. There is no problem with throttling if it is done for network management purposes, there is a problem if it is done for the purpose of favoring their cable TV business.

Comcast needs to divest itself of either its ISP business or its cable TV business.

1st problem is that Facetime is not a website.

2nd issue is that no one needed anything Obama is pushing to deal with any issue like that.

Now the simple question for people here is are you willing to trade less federal control in order to stop a virtually non-existent problem? I’m not. I dont care how many 20 year olds think that is “uncool”.

What young conservative in there right mind would want more federal regulation and all of the evils that will come from it?

ATT blocked Facetime because it would squeeze out other, important services on the backbone...like banking, utilities, Public Safety etc. without a general upgrade of bandwidth and further bandwidth limiting.

ATT position is that companies who wish to use the internet for real-time voice and video should be allowed the option to pay for upgrades on the backbone that will allow for the delivery of these services without affecting others.

But you would prevent that and force everyone to subsidize that which they are not going to use.

So that Apple/Google/Yahoo/Netflix/Hulu can have a free ride.

That's a political redistribution of private resources...and you fancy yourself as a champion of conservative values?

Laughable.

Oh, and your ignorant on how the internet business works too.
