Why Millenials Rejected Obama

Youth culture has become the dominant popular culture upon which most of Western society fixates. Technology has created virtual public spaces thus increasing popular culture’s perceived ubiquity. Any object or totem that can successfully package itself as "novel" acts as a metallic fishing lure. Often within hours the object is existentially justified as "popular" because it appears to be "popular", creating a feedback-loop.

There might have been a maturing. For the sake of this article, I will use the age of 22 as a millennial who has graduated during the Obama regime.

A millennial who was 22 when Obama was elected in 2008, would be 28 now. One who was 22 in 2009 would be 27. One who was 22 in 2010 would be 26. And one who was 22 in 2011 would be 25.

I'll stop there because 25 is the age at which someone is said to have matured into an adult. It is possible that millennials who have been jobless from age 22, for 3 to 6 years, have finally understood the stupidity and incompetence of the Obama Administration. They might understand, ruefully, that while there has been change, there sure as hell is no hope.

Young people are quick to embrace what is cool, but just as quick to abandon and despise uncool. Mr Obama has become uncool, which makes him dead to the young.

Obama and his handlers fully understood that their lock of certain groups of voters would eventually slip, and they are seeing that now. Hence, the urgency and desperation to “fix” the “broken” immigration system. They need to replace those votes they lost with new illegal alien votes. And they have to get it done before 2016.

The ones who are over age 26 are not liking that at ALL. They have a personal incentive to vote against anything Democrat.

The Democrats who run America are too old, too rich, and too white.

being young, Millennials could be open to some very “radical” ideas - such as reform/elimination of the Federal Reserve, entitlement (esp. Soc. Sec.) reform

I think that idea is the reason that Ron Paul was so marginalized and labeled a kook; despite it becoming ever so clear that the continual incurrence of debt will not be stopped until this happens, there is a lot of money/power invested in keeping the Federal Reserve.

I've also heard that JFK's assassination was because he'd planed to end the fed, I wonder how true that conspiracy theory was.

You did a great job, and I do a fair job on documenting the failures of the War on Poverty.

We as the front foot soldiers need to make more people in our circles aware of the cost and failures of the War on Poverty.

Then, tie that failure in with Obamacare, Ebolagate, pseudo racism and the dozens of core failures the rats generate tax $’s and donations for.

What the rats do in politics or in their phony charities helps no one except the rats getting paid for their phony efforts.

Just a little editing. Thanks, I have added this to my home page:

The Democrats, who run America are too old, too rich, and very/very white.

Any conservative pol paying attention to that will get it right.

There is no lock on any demographic...well, I take that back. There are locksteppers - but that does NOT mean everyone is a lockstepper

If any of these guys think young people are watching Letterman, Shieffer or even Fox, they can forget it.

The kids here watch some Fox. The draw is Greg Gutfeld.

He gets them interested in the story. He makes it funny. Not necessarily silly...and they are funny. Their pride and megalomania are funny.

Kids are not watching Saturday night live. But why would they? It is terrible. There is nothing funny.

They are watching Marvel and superheroes. They need that.

Media forgets that there is natural law and that people are drawn to good stories.

These kids know Obama is putting them into trouble. Not even Hillary anticipated the damage, I imagine. And Obama does not care Not a bit

Agreed. This phenomenon has been observed for quite some time. It’s an old saying, for instance, that a conservative is just a liberal who’s been mugged by reality. These millenials are just in the process of getting mugged by reality.

Somehow millennials need to be taught that the war on poverty took trillions of tax dollars away from their parents and grand parents, and used to support millions of people who don't want to work. Each time they think of the war on poverty, they need to think of the Obama phone lady.

I have read that 80% of the money spent on Section 8 housing is for illegals.

Further, the war on poverty money is going to be used by the Democrats to support the tens of millions of illegal aliens and their families. Any thought that things might improve for the millenials is quickly going to vanish. The Republicans MUST get that message across to them!

Obama sucks—that’s it in the nutshell. He can’t rule, he can’t make up his mind. Hes like a rock star who has to lip sinc because he can’t sing. Besides he is getting old—where is the hope? Where is the idealism? All just words.

Because they did not get their Student Loan Forgiveness, their Net Neutrality, nor their Skittles-pooping Unicorn either.

Looking at the news today, it seems Obama is in the process of trying to rectify this.

Obama is a 20-watt bulb who uncorked the tired swill of collectivist-utopia for a generation that lacked the perspective and maturity to contextualize it…

Nicely put.

There have always been few conservatives in that age group. Young people feel a lot as they move in a pack of peers and don’t think so much. You become conservative when you are independent, without a herd and have to work and protect and provide for your children. Then you realize there is no time to be stupid and fool around anymore. This is why liberals are trying to get rid of family ties and responsibility and love.

Also, young whites, Hispanics and Asians wake up to liberal racism and sexism as being dangerous to themselves, their husbands and their children. Racists and sexists are dangerous, no matter their color and rationalizations.
