With the WWI centennial and Armistice Day coming up, I’ll have to bring back Elgar’s Quintet for Piano and Strings in A minor tomorrow night with commentary. It’s his 1919 reaction to what happened to the men of the British Empire who went off to fight and didn’t come back.
