Yes they have problems, what country doesn’t? Russia did cause many of them.
Let them deal with their problems. That takes time. Time they were not given by Moscow.
Who says aligning with the EU would solve all their problems? Aligning with Russia would probably just mean slavery again.
I have actually been to Ukraine and have some fond memories of some the people I met there. I do wish them success. I don’t see how they can do anything but work with Russia — not as slaves, but as neighbors.
