St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay is working in collaboration with the NAACP St. Louis Branch, the St. Louis Public Safety Department, and the Ethical Society of Police to recruit more minority police officers to the force. The City has been working on the initiative for months. However, the tragic shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson on, August 9, 2014, gave the plan a greater sense of urgency.

Miami also hired more “minorities” - and the River Cops Scandal was the direct result.
Lowering standards so the “minority de jure” (minority du jure - take your choice) is a faulty premise which leads to a bad conclusion.
But, multi-trial learners insist on repetition . . . .
does that mean watering down requirements for minorities??
does that mean no more background investigations?

I sure as hell would not and if I was one there now,I would make sure my resume was on the desk of damn near very police chief and sheriff in every city and county between Kansas City and the California border.
