“it’s odd. Classical musicians rarely get shot. Some years ago I heard this joke: Today France’s oldest living person died ate the age of 104, two days after she began her rap career.
It is a toxic, hateful, ugly, violent, depraved “musical” genre. Low and ugly.”

I read that orchestra conductors have the longest life spans of any profession. The theory is that they actually DO exert themselves a lot with arms over their heads.

OTOH, sadly, brass instrument players (notably trumpet players) have short lifetimes, a possible contributor to this might be the high pressures required to play a brass instrument.

I’ll bet that drummers have long lifespans. You will RARELY see an out of shape drummer, especially a rock drummer. It’s incredibly physically demanding.

Overall that’s true but there are exceptions. Gene Hogland, is an absolutely massive drummer in both size and ability but I have no idea how the guy is the size he is and capable of drumming 180 BPM for hours on end at metal festivals.

But somehow he does.

See Strapping Young Lad/Devin Townsend and Fear Factory vids for his work. He also fills in for a lot of other bands from time to time across genres.
