“Get things done” when spoken by the mainstream media, ‘RATS and some RINOs means Republicans working with ‘RATS to advance the progressive agenda.

Congress needs to focus on passing CONSERVATIVE legislation that advances the interests of the American people. No Omnibus Budget Reconciliation bills (with budgets for all Agencies included along with thousands of smaller progressive items slipped in) should ever be passed. Congress should work to pass separate appropriation bills so if Obama opts to veto or refuse to sign the legislation he would have no excuse to shut down the entire government and blame the Republicans.

For example, funding for the EPA should be in its own “stand alone” bill and that bill should include things such as affirmatively stating that CO2 is NOT a pollutant and language prohibiting the EPA from actions aimed at shutting down the coal industry. If Obama refuses to sign the bill then HE could only shut down the EPA (which NOBODY will miss). Congress should affirmatively say that if OBAMA SHUTS DOWN THE EPA then the suspended EPA employees should apply for unemployment insurance as Congress will NOT APPROVE BACK PAY FOR TIME SPENT NOT WORKING. We would quickly see how the EPA employees quickly become unhappy campers at being treated like Americans in the private sector.

I love your idea. No more omnibus bills! Every agency gets it’s own funding bill. I have contacted both my senators in support of this.
