She’s a Lieutenant Colonel (O-5). She is replacing retiring Democrat Tom Harkin, who saw fit to lie about his record as a Naval aviator. You may recall that Harkin claimed to have flown attack and recce missions over South Vietnam, but it turns out he was only a ferry pilot, flying aircraft to and from maintenance depots. He never saw combat, but persisted in lying about service until Barry Goldwater confronted him publicly.
Iowans can be proud for electing a woman of character and integrity to the Senate.
