The media have barely mentioned Mia Love or Tim Scott’s elections.
The liberals should be happy about these elections because they want us to celebrate diversity.
Mia Love adds to gender and ethnic diversity in Congress. Tim Scott adds to ethnic diversity in the Senate. There is also the historic issue of Tim Scott being elected in a state of the old Confederacy. Certainly the liberals and the NAACP would hail such an historic election.
He may be a whole lot smarter than lots of his colleagues, and certainly more knowledgeable.
Congrats to Mr. Hurd!
but younger people offer so much more energy and a can do spirit...
and if the pubs really want to step into the 21st century, they had better open lots and lots of avenues for younger people and minorities...
btw what constitutes "biracial" anymore?....obola is NEVER referred to as biracial and neither are the plethora of football and BB and baseball players that are very obviously half white....
You would think so, but I guess being black and a Republican is old news now. But an openly gay Republican? That alone should have made their front page news (to the dismay of numerous hardcore conservatives). But not even that.
The Libs talk a good story until it doesn't benefit them personally.
Electing a sexual deviant from California who has already been accusede by two of his male staffers of sexual harassment is hardly “historic”.
Historically stupid maybe.
Not only that but in South Carolina of all places, but of course southern conservative white Republicans are ~still~ racist..
ooooh no none of these stories could possibly be true....after all the republicans are all racist white folks. (do I really need to add the sarcasm notation?)
Agreed!
I was at a luncheon with this guy. He is impressive! He is definitely leadership material in the Republican party IF he can keep his focus and avoid becoming “Washington-ized”
The article fails to mention Mr. Hurd's grandmother, who is a typical white person.
Anyway, I'm pretty certain that Scott out-polled Graham.
For the idiot MSM, I'll spell it out: The Black guy won bigger than the White guy in South Carolina. Why haven't we heard this story?
Hey Dil! You forget; “We” see them as “Blacks/African Americans”—THEY see people like Mia as “Uncle Tom’s”, doing “the MANS” work! D.A.
We had several firsts in WV. Shelley Moore Capito, first woman Senator, first Republican House of Delegates in 83 years. First Republican majority in (I think that is also 83 years), and youngest Delegate ever (an 18 year old Republican college girl.
Times they are achanging.
“Hurd is a graduate of John Marshall High School in the San Antonio suburb of Leon Valley, Texas.[2] After graduating from Texas A&M, Hurd worked for the Central Intelligence Agency for nine years, including a tour of duty as an operations officer in Afghanistan.”
Congrats Mr. Hurd...Godspeed...
Exactly, you should’ve seen some of the “Twitter” abuse for these guys on election night.
Well at least he is American born and he probably has a birth certificate: can’t say much for the other dude in the White Hut.
Election results ping
