There are many reasons to celebrate the Republican party surge in the US mid-term elections but for me they boil down to two words: "Tom" and "Steyer."
If you had to pick one person who embodied everything that is most irritating and wrong about the Obama administration - the Solyndra-style crony capitalism, the war on free markets, small business and cheap energy, the hypocrisy, the injustice, the dogged pursuit of suicidal leftist causes - then liberal billionaire Tom Steyer is your man.
And this is what is so good about the US mid-term results. Not only did they personally cost Steyer many millions of dollars in wasted campaign expenditure - nearly $75 million of the funding for his Nextgen Climate superPAC came out of his own pocket: think how many tartan ties you could buy with that! - but they represented the US electorate's comprehensive repudiation of the notion that "climate change" is the most pressing political issue of our age.

Buh bye.
Steyer is rich, yet a fool.
I keep hearing how liberals hollered about the Koch brothers.
Crickets are chirping about Tom Steyer.
Yes every middle class American wants to live like a third world peon so the left’s theories of “globull warming” can be tested.
Don’t listen to the anti-science deniers, Tom. We were so close. You need to double down in the next election. We are putting you down for $200 million. Will that be cash or check?
Steyer sure didn’t get much for his hundred million campaign donations - too bad....
Spend more next time. It's good for the economy.
“A fool and his money are soon parted” is that what they are chirping?
If he intends on selling oil triple the price on the black market through prop trading, then he is a criminal.
It is always like that in the Obama admin, we are never sure if they are fools or have a devious plan to destroy and subjugate.
What about Soros? Between the two, They lost about a billion. The only winner was Bloomberg in Washington’s Prop 594 on gun control. 9th circus will uphold, but the NRA will sue to the US Supremes. Hope they win.
I594 is unfair because a background check should include also those who deem themselves unqualified to own a gun. This is Big Brother, and not just control and tax of profit gun stores.
More over the rule favors a gun thief who can accuse the owner of illegal transfer while punishing a woman for getting her husband shotgun in case of home invasion, mwith the invador complaining of her stealing the gun.
Guess who is thinking of running for Boxer’s seat?
