Well... it looks like the Republicans are about to gain another seat in the US Senate.
So I guess they will be +8 maybe +9 for Alaska?
Please correct me if I’m wrong? Thanks in advance.
To: rdl6989
The Republicans should just ask Mary Landrieu to concede, since her own party has financially cut her off, and in the interest of saving time and money.
To: Enlightened1
They’re at +7 right now with Louisiana and Alaska pending.

Probably going to use the ad money to dig up dirt (or create it) on Cassidy.

I'm pretty sure they have Alaska and this looks like they are about to get Louisiana too. So that would be +9 seats. The biggest Republican lead in congress since the 1920s before the Great Depression.

This could be a trap
No ads, nobody pays attention and assumes the Repub will so complacency sets in AND then WHAM we wake up and find out she won
Hopefully they keep all the Republcians energized down there

It’s like being in a blowout football game. It doesn’t really matter (except for the gamblers) whether you lose by 5 touchdowns or 4. Of course, it would be great to have one more seat, and it wouldn’t need defending until 2020.
I’ll say one thing—if the balance of the Senate would have hinged on the runoff in Louisiana, all hell would have broken loose. They would have pulled out every stop, up to and including threatening or bribing Cassidy. God knows what they gave Jumping Jim Jeffords to get him to jump from republican to democrat.

Maybe they *know* that the fix is in for Landrieu with the rigged ballot boxes.

Rush said the other day that there are conservatives and/or GOPers who think that the Dems are so invincible and so smart that everything that the Dems do is a strategy.
Maybe they realize she is worthless and is not worth saving.

There could be all sorts of reasons. It may be as simple as believing they can’t win the state. Or they may be waiting until the last week to bombard the state with a lot of negative ads (given this election, I am not sure they would work). Pretty much anything done in the next week or two is likely to be ignored.
