Condoleezza Rice said on Thursday that if President Barack Obama wants to tackle immigration in his last two years in office, he cant do it through executive actions.
We cant have a circumstance in which we are going after a problem as meddlesome and potentially divisive as immigration by executive action only, this has to go through the peoples representatives, the former secretary of state said in an interview with Brian Kilmeade of Fox and Friends. Thats our system, thats the Congress.
Rice said that after Republicans dominated the midterm elections, the American people need to watch what happens now and see whether Obama will reach across the aisle.

Someone needs to remind Zero that he’s in the Executive branch. His job is merely to faithfully execute the laws of this nation, not to make them.
Didn’t Obama make some snarky comment about “win some elections”?
“To her America is exceptional at leading comprehensive global efforts that make America look good, but may not be good for America.”
I absolutely understand your point, and whereas I don’t know what she specifically thinks, there are plenty of Republicans who think this way. I personally think that America should lead the world in trying to make the world a better place, but I also think that much of this can and is done at the level of charitable donations of money and time voluntarily by American citizens. Where quick action is required and can only be done using official American resources (e.g. American help when there is a natural disaster somewhere in the world) I think it is what we should do as a nation.
Those things said, I also feel strongly that America is in many ways the great hope of the world, and that as such we are not helping the world by committing national suicide. We have to stay strong. We can’t help anyone if we are imperiled. The right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is not, unfortunately, a universally accepted premise around the world.
Anyway, I think we’re probably on the same page...
The globalist wing of the GOP are the same that dismiss Cruz as a zealot or Lee as an agitator.
They serve the cause of a world order with the US out front, which is just as dangerous as the liberal mindset of the US leading from behind. In both cases, the best interests of other are placed before ours.
She's nice enough and smart enough, but can best serve the country by remaining at her post at Stanford.
But in a sense she is right, even if she likes illegal immigration (and I don’t know that she does). The damage to our nation is great when the president ignores the Constitution, whether or not we are in favor of the particular fiat. It can be a less graphic damage than the physical results, even an invisible damage, but it destroys our foundation.
My point is that she's just against executive overreach, not the concept per say.
I think she’s smarter than that. To be against something without having a good reason is moronic, and she knows all the right reasons.
She’s a Bushbot. They all think the same way - all the way back to H.W.
They are not Reaganites, they are true conservatives.
They are NOT true conservatives.
