Reince Priebus is striking a combative tone on immigration, accusing President Barack Obama of lying to Hispanic voters on potential executive action. I dont believe a thing he says on immigration, the Republican National Committee chairman said on CNN on Wednesday evening.
Following the Republican takeover of the Senate and major GOP gains in the House on Election Day, Republican leaders have largely taken a conciliatory tone, vowing to work with the White House and congressional Democrats to break through Washington gridlock. But Priebus escalated the rhetoric and had strong words for the president on immigration, citing his thus far unfulfilled pledges to pass both legislation and executive orders.
On the 2008 campaign trail, Obama pledged to take action on immigration reform in his first year in office. Priebus on Wednesday noted that with a Democratic super majority in the Senate and a majority in the House in his first two years, the president still failed to deliver.
He didnt do a darn thing with his legislative majorities, Priebus said. And all hes been doing for the last year is lying to Hispanic voters across the country.
The RNC chairman also called the presidents recent delay on immigration executive action ridiculous. Earlier this year, Obama delayed executive action until after the midterms in an effort to help insulate red-state Democrats from political pressure on the issue, a move that earned him significant criticism from reform advocates.
Hes not trustworthy on this issue, Priebus added on Wednesday. The only thing he has done is hes unified the country against his immigration policies.
In 2012, Obama issued an executive order to allow hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants to stay in the country without the threat of deportation.
Republicans and the White House appear to be gearing up for confrontation on immigration in 2015. GOP lawmakers have mostly criticized a potential Obama executive order as circumventing their constitutional authority. At his White House press conference on Wednesday, Obama said he would take executive action before the end of the year and urged legislative action, as well.
Obama is about to pass amnesty by himself
Jeb Bush hasn’t even decided if he is going to run for anything .funny but I think stopping Obama from passing this amnesty should be priority one and more important than worrying about the likes of Jeb Bush. worry about Obama as he has the ability now to destroy the USA
so i’m right a majority of the GOP does not want amnesty
cause if a majority did then they would have passed Amnesty
I didn’t say every one that calls himself a Republican doesn’t want Amnesty . i know there are some RINOS that do want amnesty. i’m saying the GOP as a whole has stopped amnesty since 1994
I think we might be saying the same thing. President Bush wanted amnesty. Remember his big push in Spring 2007? The GOP leadership in the House and in the Senate wanted amnesty. Most GOP Senators wanted amnesty. There were only just enough conservatives in the House that messed up their plan because Pelosi couldn't martial a number of scared Dems in shaky seats.
what do you think of what Obama is threatening to do to pass amnesty by himself . that's a dictatorship?
what can we do about it? i have to admit i’m frightened to death of Obama and his amnesty by executive ordered.i was very happy celebrating the great wave victory on 11/04, then i heard about this executive amnesty and now i’m depressed and in full panic mode

Yes.
what can we do about it?
I wish I knew. To quote Obama, That's above my pay grade.

If he's going to do it now, he would have done it anyway had Harry Reid kept control of the Senate. So go ahead and celebrate. Those Dems deserved to lose their jobs!
We'll see what the GOP does now with control of Congress. If what I expect, which is little, then two years from now they'll deserve to lose their jobs too. And I suspect they will. Spectacularly.
I don’t have any issues.

But, thanks for your condescension, which is a point of self serving arrogance and has, extent to it’s intent, a deep seated need for validation, while looking for relevancy.
You got a problem with me, get specific, instead of this oblique mentoring that you are wholly unqualified to perform.
I notice everyone else on the thread said essentially the same thing.
Why single me out?
You need a validation of some sort? Get a dog. They are awesome at that sort of thing but, they lack thumbs and a sentience....
Something has lit a fire under Reince’s butt in that past couple of weeks on the illegal invasion issue (it’s not immigration, so I don’t call it immigration). I’d like to know what caused the change in Mr. Priebus.
“Id like to know what caused the change in Mr. Priebus.”
He can read polls.

Something has changed. Romney, Jeb Bush, Boehner and McConnell are all still wobbly on the issue.
If the GOP takes Obama's bait and works on "immigration reform" first, they are toast. It's the economy. Approve Keystone. Approve other drilling. Rein in the EPA, end the war on coal. There's a whole number of things to do. Reduce the corporate tax to bring back the $2 trillion US corporations have outside the US, but with some informal deal that they'll invest it here.
